Real time PCR

Real Time PCR or quantitative PCR (qPCR) is more sensitive and reproducible than conventional PCR. Precise methods involving qPCR analysis include absolute quantitation, relative gene expression, and gene polymorphism analysis. Nucleic acid detection is achieved by means of fluorescent markers included in the amplification reaction. Real Time detection of amplified products is performed by monitoring the increase of fluorescence after each amplification cycle. This fluorescent signal is generated by the use of reporter molecules that can be part of sequence specific probes (i.e. Lionprobes®, Taqman®, Scorpion®).
Real Time PCR reactions can involve several types of specific or non-specific probes in the same amplification cycle, thereby allowing the researcher to analyse several sequences in the same reaction.
The instrument records digital signals that increase in relation to the accumulation of fluorescence reporter molecules during the course of the amplification reaction.
Biotools Quantimix line offers a versatile portfolio of PCR and RT-PCR reagents for qPCR detection and gene quantification. All of the kits have been designed for high efficiency, high yield, sensitivity and specificity for a wide range of samples. Biotools Quantimix kits are compatible with most currently available Real Time amplification instruments.
