BIOHCV kit

Description:

BIOHCV kit has been designed to detect hepatitis C virus in clinical samples (e.g. blood, serum, plasma, PBMCs, hepatic tissue). The kit is a test for qualitative analysis, using a reverse transcription/DNA amplification technique for direct detection of viral nucleic acids sequences.

Viral RNA present in positive samples is reverse transcribed into cDNA by using a specific primer, which hybridise with homologous sequences into viral genome. The obtained cDNA is then amplified in two reactions, being the second amplification a nested PCR reaction which achieves maximum sensitivity and specificity of the detection.

BIOHCV kit is supplied with:

• RT mix: The RT mix includes all the reagents for cDNA synthesis, except MnCl₂ and Retrotranscriptase
• MnCl₂
• Retrotranscriptase
• HCV buffer: Combination of inorganic factors to enhance reverse transcription efficiency
• Amplification mix: Includes all the reagents for the amplification of the cDNA
• Nested mix: Includes all the reagents for an effective amplification of the first PCR product
• Positive control: Non-infective sequences of HCV which consists of a generic sequence from HCV, flanked by the specific primers.
