Description:

Plants are complex samples because of their chemical composition and the presence of a cell wall that is difficult to lyse. Furthermore, different metabolites such as polyphenolics, polysaccharides or acidic components that are presence in plant samples interfere with subsequent processing of the purified DNA.

The SpeedTools Plant DNA Extraction kit technology combines the advantages of a highly efficient lysis buffer based on the CTAB procedure, with a powerful novel method for nucleic acid isolation and purification characterised by the use of non-chaotropic salts for the binding of nucleic acids to a solid phase. This novel technology allows for a fast and efficient isolation of high quality DNA from:

The obtained DNA (A260/280 ratios 1.6-1.9) is ready-to-use in subsequent reactions like PCR, RFLP analysis, restriction enzyme digestion, sequencing, cloning or Southern blotting.
