OPEpoxySlideTM

Description:
The OPEpoxySlideTM has been designed for a wide range of microarray platforms (proteins, amino-modified molecules, oligonucleotides, and PCR products). The epoxy bound surface is one of the most robust and efficient ones for microarrays. Amino, hydroxi and mercapto groups from proteins bind to the highly active epoxy groups on the coated slide surface through covalent interactions. On the other hand, amine groups from PCR products, oligonucleotides or amino-modified molecules react with the slide’s epoxy groups, through a strong union.
Amines present in spotting buffers may compete with probes for the attachment to epoxy groups. For printing samples on OPEpoxySlidesTM we recommend the use of spotting buffers that are free of amines (e.g. Protein Spotting Buffer B: cat N° 71.114 and 71.115).

SLIDE SURFACES
One of the major limitations of microarray analysis is the quality of coating chemistries on the glass surface. Deficient quality arrays printed on coated glass slides lead to a loss of sensitivity and variations in spot size, shape, and even probe content.
CapitalBio offers a full set of accurately modified glass slides suitable for both contact and non-contact printing with various nucleic acids and proteins.
CapitalBio has also developed various cutting-edge biochips utilising microfluidic technology, microprocessor technology and bio-electro-magnetic technology. Slides are coated with several layers of nitrocellulose, nylon, polilysine and agarose/ achrylamide, as described in different patents. Different functional groups can be used inside this microfluidic matrix.
