Biofood ID kit

Description:

The Biofood ID kit is based on the detection and amplification of the vertebrate cytochrome b gene, followed by restriction analysis in order to identify animal species by their restriction patterns. The specific restriction patterns of each species are analysed by agarose gel electrophoresis. 

Although the Biofood Identification kit can be used with heterogeneous samples, the presence of more than 3-5 species in a sample may cause difficulties in interpreting the results.

• Master mix: Includes all amplification reagents for the detection of the cytocrome b gene
• MgCl₂
• Biotools DNA Polymerase
• Restriction enzyme 1 and its 10X Enzyme buffer
• Restriction enzyme 2 and its 10X Enzyme buffer
• Restriction enzyme 3 and its 10X Enzyme buffer
• Amplification Controls: amplified pork, turkey, chicken and goat DNA
